My son and husband spent some time this week doing work around the yard. At times, they were working very hard--at other times, they were sitting under trees having a chat. It seems that they had a really good father-son talk while working in the yard together. I am glad to see that--they haven't been getting along very well lately, and it is good to see them actually talking about relevant issues together. Sometimes the best way to talk to teens is to put them to work on something, then work side-by-side with them and talk while working together--it seemed to work for them! :)
