Airport Security
We had to drop my husband off at the airport the other day. My teens haven't been to an airport since 9/11--things sure have changed. We used to park and go into the terminal, meet people at the gate, visit with friends and family who had layovers, etc. Now, since we no longer can go very far into the terminal if we aren't passengers, we just have to drop our friends and family off in front of the airport. It appears that most people are doing this--there were a lot of cars in the lines as we approached the terminal. There are police officers waving people on if they sit in the line too long--the people flying are supposed to jump out, quickly grab their luggage, and practically run into the terminal to begin the long process of clearing security. The cars dropping them off must quickly move on or they will be seen as suspicious in some way. Thanks to the terrorists on 9/11, the process of meeting loved ones at the airport or sending them off on a long trip is changed forever. How sad!
