Another way my teens are finding ways to communicate with their friends for free is by using my cell phone--but ONLY after 9 pm and on weekends! I have a plan that allows free nights and weekends, so they both like to use my phone during those times. Of course, I don't want them to call people late at night, so they mostly use it on the weekends. I don't mind too much since it is free--my number one concern is NOT running my bill up! They cannot text on my phone because I do not have unlimited texting--I SOMETIMES use it, but I get charged for every message so I don't do it often. Since they seem to prefer texting over talking, they don't use my phone all that often, really. Anyway--just another way for them to communicate for free. They also use IM and email on the computer a lot. Keeping in touch with friends seems to be an all-important goal for them! :)
