Both my son and daughter have recently lost teachers to cancer. They talked about the ordeal of their teachers throughout the school year. Both teachers were out often due to chemotherapy. Both teachers returned with good attitudes, but they both were really sick. Both teachers died of cancer--one last month and one last week. It is very sad--for their families, for their friends, and for their students. My teens are handling it all fairly well--these were two of their favorite teachers and they will miss them very much. They have seen the effects of cancer through these brave souls--it is a terrible disease that we need to cure as soon as possible. Maybe some of the students who witnessed these teachers suffering will grow up to be doctors and/or scientists who maybe even find that elusive cure. Things will be different at school without these teachers. May they rest in peace.
