I had to get a bit strict the other day with my teens--we had someone coming to look at the house and their rooms were once again messy. Why can't teenagers KEEP their rooms clean? They can GET them clean, but KEEPING them that way is another matter. They cleaned them rather quickly, and not really as well as I would like them to do, but they DID get it done. I guess it is just part of being a teenager--letting your room stay messy. BUT--if we are ever going to sell this house, itr cannot be like that. I wish we weren't living in the house while selling it, but we have no choice right now. They have to try as hard as they can to keep their rooms clean in case someone calls at the last minute and wants to see the house. It is tough--in their words, it sucks--but that's the way it is. I just want to sell this house and move on with the rest of life!
