Reinstalling Windows

This isn't exactly the message I had, but it is similar. It gave me several options, but no matter which I chose, it always rotated back to an error message. There was no way to get Windows back up--I had to use my recovery media to completely reinstall it. BTW--my laptop is a few years old and I have Windows XP. I have heard that Windows Vista has even more problems--not sure I want to "upgrade" yet. I am happy with XP for now. So I spent some time slowly reinstalling Windows--all the while, I knew I was wiping out everything on the hard drive and essentially starting over. I guess the term is: reformatting the hard drive. Whatever--I just know that everything on the computer was erased and Windows once again started up for me. I was just glad to see it work again--being able to restart Windows was a relief. I was very glad to not have a crashed hard drive--I have already replaced one on this laptop. Now Windows is up and running again--I am back in business! :)
